Welcome to Black Eagle Castle Archery
We are a self owned business that teaches you how to become an archer. Certified instructors and archers are here to teach you and your children how to properly shoot a traditional bow and arrow.
Our Origin Story
Our passion for archery began in 2007 when one of our founding members visited a booth called Sherwood Forest Archery at a Renaissance fair in Smithville, TX—and practically never left. At the time, the member was a child and quickly formed lasting bonds with the people running the archery booth. After spending seven weekends visiting and shooting all their arrows, Sherwood Forest Archery adopted the father-daughter duo as part of their team.
Not long after, both founding members became integral members of the Sherwood Forest Archery group, where they were warmly welcomed. In 2008, the head of Sherwood Forest Archery decided to open his own Renaissance festival and could no longer manage the archery program. The organization was passed on to Ruben Lozano and was renamed Black Eagle Castle Archery.
Since then, Black Eagle Castle Archery has become a well-known name across Central and South Texas, with its reach extending as far as Louisiana. We have proudly participated in numerous festivals, both large and small, including the San Antonio Highland Games in Helotes, TX, the Austin Celtic Festival, the Central Texas Renaissance Festival, the Scottish, Celtic, and Highland Games in Dallas, TX, Dragon Valley, and the Ingleside Renaissance Faire. Currently, we continue to participate in festivals and specialize in traditional and medieval archery.
